Embed GIS Mapping in Applications with GeoXplorer ActiveX
What does GeoXplorer do?
GeoConcept GeoXplorer enables you to embed GIS map software functionality in other applications.
A free GeoXplorer is included with every desktop copy of the GeoConcept software so users can pan, zoom and change views within applications such as MicroSoft PowerPoint.
Alternatively developers can buy kits and multiple GeoXplorer licences to embed GIS in their own applications.
Using the free GeoXplorer to embed GIS mapping software in PowerPoint
To use GeoXplorer, you do not need to load a copy of GeoConcept.
Insert the GeoConcept map object into your MicroSoft PowerPoint, for example, and set the properties to determine which map to open.
Within PowerPoint a right click, then reveals menu options enabling the presenter to change map tabs, jump to specific locations, pan and zoom around the map and set up info boxes.
The resultant dynamic map enables the presenter to "jump" around the map in response to audience questions, changing the locations and layers of data as required.
