GeoConcept Internet Server (GCIS) also for intranet & extranet
What does GCIS mapping software do?
GeoConcept Internet Server enables you to make GIS mapping software available via a web browser interface, whether that be internet, intranet or extranet.
Who uses GCIS mapping?
GCIS is integrated into a very large number of user contexts : public websites (CHK local plans for UK local authorities such as Canterbury, Harlow and Chester, the geoportal for the French national mapping agency - IGN and a range of other applications for municipalities across the world, e.g. city of Marseille,…), manufacturing and distributors (e.g. BOC), professional crisis management applications (Paris Fire Brigade, Préfecture de Police of Paris…), geomarketing (Société Générale, Citroën,…), mobility (K par K, MGE,…), etc
Web GIS: GeoConcept Internet Server Standard
Exceptionally easy to set up and use. Simply copy your maps from the GeoConcept desktop to the server and choose which functionality to provide to browser-based users: pan, zoom, choose tabs to view, choose positions to go to, retrieve information.
Organising your data is simple. Your prepared maps can have a number of “tabs” (just like Microsoft Excel) with different maps to view. Some might be simple locations, others show pie charts or shaded maps & some could have hyper links to photographs & other documents.
GeoConcept Internet Server Standard consists of GeoConcept Enterprise, GeoConcept Internet Server Module & a ready to use Java Applet to provide your users with simple map functionality. For kits & more sophisticated Java applets choose the Enterprise version.
Web GIS: GeoConcept Internet Server Enterprise
Ready to use Java applets (no development required) to enable your users to access a range of map functionality. For example, choose a simple light navigator to enable them to pan and zoom or choose the geomarketer providing remote users with wizards to create their own shaded maps and pie charts and queries. Choose object manager to enable users to edit or add new point locations, boundaries or lines, or develop your own interface using the optional developer kits.
GCIS Enterprise consists of GeoConcept Internet Server Module, GeoConcept Enterprise and a wide range of ready-to-use Java Applets. The Development Kits give developers the optimum mix of programming power, centralised admin. & cross-platform interoperability.
JPEG or PDF Generators
Adding static map images is one of the simplest methods of improving location information on your web site. Use GeoConcept desktop software to overlay your own information on your choice of background map and then quickly create individual JPEGs or PDFs for each site using MapMechanics Batch Print and Batch JPEG generator applications.
Fast Compressed Mapping
FCM efficiently manages large map databases such as OS MasterMap. Vector maps are processed into a compressed format and then referenced by a single point in your web map. The compressed maps are highly indexed for fast display and the user can specify which "layers" are displayed. You can use this mapping with any GeoConcept software choice.
